Melbourne, Fla. – A record 671 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2018 Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced Thursday by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 153 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the semester, including 18 Fighting Knights.
A total of 69 Lynn University student-athletes were tabbed to the Fall Honor Roll, encompassing the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball. The Blue and White's total was tied for third-best in the conference, trailing only Rollins (73) and Florida Southern (71).
This fall's numbers break the previous SSC Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll record of 651 student-athletes honored, which was set in 2017. It is the sixth consecutive record-breaking fall for the SSC Honor Roll.
To be eligible for the Fall SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00.
Having won 104 Division II National Championships, the SSC's student-athletes have also proven to be successful in the classroom. For the eighth consecutive year, the SSC boasts an Academic Success Rate of 86 percent. The mark ranks first among all 24 NCAA Division II conferences.
