Chad Beattie is in his sixth year as the sports information director for Lynn University. As the SID, Beattie oversees all public/media relations activities as well as statistics for the Fighting Knights' 11 intercollegiate athletic programs but works primarily with men's & women's soccer, women's basketball, baseball and men's & women's golf.
In his time working at Lynn, he has partnered with Stretch Internet Radio to implement live radio and video broadcasts and CBS College Sports to provide Game Tracker live stats for home and road events. In addition, he was instrumental in making changes to the current Lynn University athletics website.
Beattie worked in the sports information department at Florida Atlantic University for three years prior to joining the Blue and White. At FAU his primary responsibilities were to publicize the men's and women's soccer, golf and cross-country teams while assisting with football and women's basketball. During his tenure with the Owls he oversaw the 2002 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer Championships and 2003 A-Sun Women's Soccer Championships and was a major contributor during the football team's 2003 playoff run.
Beattie also worked for the communications department of the Florida Panthers during the 2002-2003 hockey season, assisting in the development of the team's programs, media guides and website content. Beattie got his start in South Florida athletics working for MatchPoint Inc. and the International Tennis Championships in Delray Beach, Fla.
A graduate of FAU with a M.B.A. in Sport Management in 2005, he earned his B.S. in public relations and sports management from Florida State University in 2001. He began his career in athletics as an intern with the Seminoles athletic marketing before moving over to the FSU sports information department.
Born in Pontiac, Mich., Beattie grew up in Boca Raton, Fla., where he currently resides. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Kelly and their dog Eddie, playing golf, watching sports and movies and reading.
