Co-Female Athlete of the Week: Tyne Potgieter

Lynn University's women's swimming team wrapped up its first trip to the Sunshine State Conference Championship and made history by winning multiple medals. Bringing home the first gold medal at the championship in Fighting Knights history was Tyne Potgieter.

The sophomore from Durban, South Africa, posted a SSC Championship-record 1:03.33 in the 100 meter breaststroke to take home the gold. Potgieter bested the previous mark held by current assistant coach, and former Nova Southeastern swimmer, Ewa Jamborska.  She also won a silver medal in the 200 meter breaststroke.

Potgieter and teammate Thalia Carmigniani now wait for the draws for the NCAA Division II Swimming National Championship. The event will take place March 6-9
