Female Athlete of the Week: Thalie Carmigniani

Lynn University's swimming team saw a great week become even better with Thalie Carmigniani earning Sunshine State Conference swimmer of the week just days after the squad competing in the first swimming event in Lynn University history.

The freshman from Tours, France earned two top finishes and a runner-up in a tri-meet with St. Leo and Florida Tech. she finished first of six swimmers in the 1,000-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 10:47.68 to outpace the second-place swimmer by 22 seconds. Carmigniani also took gold in the 200-yard individual medley, besting the field of five with a three-second victory. She touched the wall in 2:12.92. Carmigniani also joined the Fighting Knights’ 200-yard medley relay for a runner-up finish. The team posted a time of 1:55.31 in a five-team race.

A trip to Tampa for a one-on-one with the Spartans is on deck for the swimming team.
