BOCA RATON, Fla.—On the first day of the early signing period, Lynn University’s men’s basketball program landed 6-2 guard, Reed Ridder from Ormond Beach, Fla.

Ridder averaged 13.0 points per game and four assists per game as a junior at Father Lopez High. During his junior campaign, he led the team to a 20-7 record and was selected to the All-State Class 2A team.

A son of a collegiate head coach, Ridder’s father, Steve Ridder, is the athletic director and head men’s basketball coach at Embry-Riddle. Ridder turned down opportunities to play at Navy and other schools but chose Lynn instead.

Ridder and the Green Waves of Father Lopez High started their 2011-12 season this past weekend in Orlando, Fla. at the Dr. Phillips Tip-Off.
