Another All-America Honor for Boza
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s Anthony Boza picked up his second All-America honor with the announcement of the National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association’s team on Tuesday. Boza was a Daktronics First Team All-America selection already and, with one team still to be announced, is vying to become the third player in program history to be a three-time All-America pick in one year.
He becomes the third player in program history to garner NCBWA First Team All-America honors, joining Dan Wright (2009) and Nicolas Boisvert (2007). Boza was the only player from the Sunshine State Conference to garner first team recognition but Carlos Asuaje and Areo Regoli from Nova Southeastern earned second team accolades.
Posting some impressive numbers during the season, Boza appeared in the top-three of eight of the SSC’s offensive categories. He led the SSC, and ranked in the top-50 nationally, with a .707 slugging percentage, 52 RBI and 133 total bases while also batting .388 with 33 runs and 18 doubles.
The Miami, Fla., product swept South Region Player of the Year accolades in four organizations, earning top honors in the South for Daktronics, College Baseball Lineup and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association in addition to his Sunshine State Conference Co-Player of the Year recognition. He becomes the first player in program history to accomplish that feat.
Lynn went 35-15 overall with a program-best 16-6 mark in league play while making its third NCAA Tournament appearance.
