Women’s Hoops Honors Senior Marquis Lee

Boca Raton, Fla. - Lynn University’s women’s basketball team looks to secure home court advantage for the 2012 Sunshine State Conference Championship in its final two games of the regular season.  The Fighting Knights host Nova Southeastern on Wednesday before traveling to Eckerd on Friday.  A pair of victories would lock down the No. 4 seed and give LU a first round match-up at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center on Wednesday, February 29.

Wednesday’s match-up will also be the final home game for senior Marquis Lee.  A four-year letterwinner with the Fighting Knights, Lee saved her best season for last as she has set career-highs for games started, minutes played, field-goals made and attempted, three-pointers made and attempted, free throws made and attempted, rebounds, assists, steals and points.  In addition, she became the the 10th player in school history with 500 career rebounds and just the fifth player with 500 rebounds, 200 assists and 150 steals.

Lynn (12-12, 7-7 SSC) is 14-10 all-time against Nova Southeastern (15-9, 7-7 SSC) after winning 58-56 on January 18.  The Fighting Knights were also victorious, 54-49, against Eckerd (13-10, 6-8 SSC) on January 25, running their all-time mark against the Tritons to 21-10.
