    Baseball Uses Late-Inning Magic, Upsets No. 27 Nighthawks in Opening Game Dahlonega, Ga. – The Lynn University baseball team found themselves in a hole, down 11-6 headed into the seventh. Late-inning offense has been a theme for the Fighting Knights all season, and it happened again. The Blue and White plated six straight runs in the final three innings on the road to down No. 27 North Georgia, 12-11, in game one of the three game weekend series.

    Baseball Slashes Panthers in Midweek Action Emerson, Ga. – The Lynn University baseball team put up a lot of runs, and early, downing the Clark Atlanta Panthers on Thursday night, 15-5. The Fighting Knights scored 10 runs in the first four innings, while Blue and White starter, Victor Danza, earned his first win of the season, giving up only one unearned run in his limited outing.

    Ellison Named SSC Baseball’s Player of the Week Melbourne, Fla. – A hot start to the 2017 season for senior-transfer, Karl Ellison as the Lynn University baseball catcher, was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week on Monday. Ellison went 6-for-9 on the week with two homeruns, six RBI, four runs scored, a walk and finished game three of the Columbus State series one double shy of hitting for the cycle.

    Baseball Tames Cougars in Game Three, Clinch Weekend Series BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team fell behind, 5-0, in the second inning, but multiple homers, extra base hits and an impressive outing by Michael Imperato (putt up four zeroes on the scoreboard) gave the Blue and White a chance to come back and defeat the Cougars, 9-6, on Sunday afternoon.

    Baseball Splits First Two Games Against Cougars Boca Raton, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team split the double-header against Columbus State on Saturday, losing the first game 8-6, in a game where both squads reached double-digit in hits. The second game went in favor of the home team, 5-2, as Fighting Knight pitching from Donovan Armas and Daniel Nuzzi shut down the Cougar offense for the majority of the 7-inning game.

    Baseball’s Comeback Attempt Cut Short Against Sailfish JUPITER, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team has had a running theme of late-inning offense this season, and it happened again on Tuesday night, but three late runs in the eighth and ninth innings were not enough to catch the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish, 7-6. The comeback attempt featured back-to-back homeruns by Tyler Curtis and Jonathon Corbitt, but not even adding one more run in the ninth would do the trick, as PBA’s Joey Hennessey shut the Fighting Knights down for his second save of the early season.

    Baseball Suffers Late-Inning Loss to Pioneers BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team made a habit of using big innings to earn victories this weekend, but the Fighting Knights fell to the Tusculum Pioneers with a taste of their own medicine on Sunday afternoon. The visiting team used a five-run top of the ninth to defeat the Blue and White 10-7.

    Baseball Bats Fire Up in Seventh Inning to Sail Past Barry BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team found themselves down heading into the 7th-inning stretch for a second time this weekend, and used a five-run inning to defeat rival Barry University, 9-4, on Saturday afternoon. Daniel Nuzzi came out of the back end of the bullpen and was able to limit the Bucs’ hitters after starting pitcher, Donovan Armas left the game.

    Ceballos Powers Baseball to Season-Opening Victory BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team stepped onto the diamond for the first time in 2017 Friday afternoon, and many wondered how so many new faces could respond to adversity. What help would come on the mound? What bats would step up after a 103-homerun season last year? Well after being down to Alabama-Huntsville 5-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh, both questions would be answered. Enrique Perez came in and shut the Chargers down on the mound and the bats slowly came around with Willie Seay providing a clutch base-hit off the bench. Miguel Ceballos powered his second of the day over the wall in the eighth, proving to be the difference.

    Baseball Opens T-3rd in SSC Preseason Poll Boca Raton, Fla. – Lynn University’s baseball team will open its season Feb. 3, ranked tied for No. 3 with Florida Southern in the 2017 Sunshine State Conference preseason baseball coaches poll. The Fighting Knights are coming off the program’s sixth NCAA Tournament appearance and returns 14 letterwinners.
