Orlando, Fla. - Lynn University’s cross country team participated in its final 5k run of the season in the ESPN WWS Cross Country Classic held at Walt Disney World. Four members of the squad ran personal-best times as the Fighting Knights placed 24th overall.
Gabriella Wuyke missed becoming the first runner in school history to finish under 20 minutes by six-tenths of a second with a time of 20:00.60. She placed 22nd out of 232 runners.
Ashley Nazario and Kinsey Roberts were within six seconds of each other with times of 24:07.20 and 24:13.90, both career-bests. Additionally, Stephanie McGowan topped her previous time by a minute with a run of 26:04.50. Clara Gilliam rounded out the LU contingent with a 5k time of 34:17.20, respectively.
Participating in an event of mostly Division I schools, Lynn accounted for 626 points. Malone took top honors with 74 points, followed by Tulane (83), Florida Gulf Coast (109), Regis (150) and Clayton State (190).
