Cross Country Places a Top-20 in First Meet

Tampa, Fla.—Lynn University’s cross country runner, Gabriella Wuyke, collected a No. 18 finish at the UT Early Bird Classic in Lynn’s first meet since 2001 on Friday.
In a field of over 130 runners, Wuyke finished with a total time of 20:41.51 in the 5k event. She averaged a 6:39.6 minute mile in the race.
In addition to Wuyke, Ashley Nazario completed the race in 26:15.78 for LU while freshman Kinsey Roberts came in just over one minute after Nazario with a total time of 27:23.02. Nazario finished 104th and Roberts finished 111th respectively.
Freshman Stephanie McGowan represented the only other runner for the Fighting Knights and crossed the finish line with time of 30:32.89.
Tampa won their event with a total time of 1:39:11.46 followed by Palm Beach Atlantic at 1:44:48.79.
