Women’s Golf Adds Two for 2012
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University head women’s golf coach Danny Randolph announced the addition of Estefania Buritica and Nezha Haddioui for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Buritica and Haddioui join a squad which returns four starters, finished runner-up at the Sunshine State Conference and reached the NCAA Tournament.
“We have a tremendous group returning for us this season but anytime you have the ability to add two quality young golfers, it is a no-brainer,” said Randolph. “Estefania [Buritica] and Nezha [Haddioui] are intense competitors who will push our returners for time in the starting lineup.”
A transfer from New Mexico State University, Buritica played two years for the Aggies where she participated in four tournaments. The Pereira, Colombia, native posted a career-low 74 at the Price’s “Give’Em Five” Intercollegiate as a freshman.
Nezha becomes the second Haddioui to play at Lynn after her sister Maha re-wrote the record books for the Fighting Knights from 2006-10 and later became the first Arab woman to compete in a professional golf tournament. Nezha will look to make her own mark with LU and is well on her way after placing second at the Arab Games in Qatar, in December.
Lynn welcomes back five letterwinners, including All-American Irene Calvo and All-SSC selections Jessica Bradley and Samantha Smolen.
