  • Lynn University challenges six NCAA Division I schools to showdown

    Lynn University Athletic Director Devin Crosby has invited six NCAA Division I schools to take on the Division II Fighting Knights during the 2017–18 season. Dubbed the South Florida Showdown, the nine-game series will be hosted by Lynn beginning in August.

    Lynn University received a record number of donations and pledges at the 25th anniversary of its Robino Golf Tournament on April 24. The Fighting Knights’ largest fundraiser of the year raised $101,895 for athletic scholarships.
  • Lynn Athletics Recognizes Student-Athletes at Sixth Annual Awards Show

    ynn University’s athletics department handed out 38 awards to student-athletes and inducted four new Hall of Fame members at the annual Student-Athlete Recognition Awards show on Tuesday night, held at the Wold Performing Arts Center on campus.

  • Botley Named League’s Newcomer of the Year, Lands on All-SSC Second Team

    Marquan Botley of the Lynn University men’s basketball team has been announced as the Sunshine State Conference Newcomer of the Year, as released by the league office on Wednesday. Additionally, the senior guard earned a spot on the All-SSC Second Team and the All-SSC Newcomer Team.
  • Late Bucket Knocks Men’s Basketball from SSC Postseason

    Defensive pressure in the second half allowed the sixth-seeded Lynn University men’s basketball team to erase a 15-point halftime deficit and take the lead with under 10 minutes to play Wednesday night in the opening round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. The Fighting Knights and third-seeded Rollins College traded blows down the stretch until the Tars found the go-ahead bucket with seven seconds left. The Blue and White had one last look from the three-point line as time expired but it rattled off the front of the rim, ending Lynn’s season with a 75-73 defeat.
  • First-Half Run Lifts Spartans Past Men’s Basketball

    A 28-12 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half put the Tampa Spartans in front before the halftime break and gave the home side enough momentum to hand the Lynn University men’s basketball team an 87-64 setback in the regular-season finale. Marquan Botley flushed another handful of three-pointers to lead the Fighting Knights’ scoring efforts with 21 points.
  • Men’s Basketball Secures Senior Night Victory over Nova, 72-68

    Lynn University’s men’s basketball team sent off its two seniors with a 72-68 Sunshine State Conference win over Nova Southeastern Wednesday night in the team’s final home game of the regular season. The Sharks stole the lead early on in the second half but a 16-point second-half performance from freshman Juwan Frazier helped the Blue and White retake the advantage down the stretch. Five Fighting Knights scored in double figures, including the two Senior Night honorees, Marquan Botley and Vieux Kande.
  • Lynn Dominates SSC Player of the Week Awards

    Lynn University athletics had an incredible showing out of the league office on Monday afternoon, securing eight Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week accolades. Marquan Botley and Vieux Kande swept the men’s basketball awards, Donovan Armas brought home baseball’s Pitcher of the Week honor while softball’s Karolina Flores was named the Player of the Week. Dryden Brous and Shaun McDonald secured two of the three men’s lacrosse awards with Stefanie Stemmer and Jean-Baptiste Mateo clinching a Fighting Knights’ sweep in the tennis category.
  • Botley Explodes for 40, Breaks Three-Point Records as Men’s Basketball Sweeps FSC

    Marquan Botley had the hottest of hands on Saturday night as the senior led the Lynn University men’s basketball team on a second half tear en route to a 93-70 victory at Florida Southern College. Tied 38-38 at halftime, the Fighting Knights dominated the second stanza for the Sunshine State Conference victory and the season sweep over the Mocs.

    Lynn University’s men’s basketball team saw Vieux Kande break his own program rebounding record and Marquan Botley drain seven threes to score 27 points but fall 97-89 to Florida Tech on Wednesday night.

    Rollins College took control of the game early and never surrendered the edge on Saturday as the Lynn University men’s basketball team fell to the Tars in Sunshine State Conference action, 92-80. Four players in the Blue and White scored in double figures while the point guards combined for nine of the squad’s 18 assists.

    Terrell Rogers’ game-tying free throw with five seconds to play in regulation kept Lynn University’s men’s basketball team alive before the Fighting Knights secured a thrilling 75-73 overtime victory on the road at Saint Leo Wednesday night. The Lions heaved up a nice look from long range right at the final buzzer but it fell just short. The Blue and White halt a five-game slide while picking up a key Sunshine State Conference victory.

  • Second Half Men’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short Against No. 11 Barry

    Lynn University’s men’s basketball team was unable to utilize a season-high 58.3 three-point shooting percentage on 14 makes and a career-high 27 points from forward Kevin O’Brien as it fell to No. 11 Barry 80-75 on Wednesday night. Down just one (76-75) with 34 seconds remaining, the Fighting Knights had an opportunity at putting up the go-ahead bucket but a costly turnover iced the game in favor of the Buccaneers.
  • Embry-Riddle Soars over Men’s Basketball

    Lynn University’s men’s basketball team quickly found itself in a hole it couldn’t overcome on Saturday against Embry-Riddle in nonconference action. The Eagles’ offense was rolling on all cylinders right out of the gate and a big halftime advantage led to a 104-80 decision over the Fighting Knights. Junior guard Chances Matlock caught fire from beyond the arc in the second half, finishing with a season-high 17 points.
  • Turnovers Doom Men’s Basketball in 62-60 Loss at PBA

    The Lynn University men’s basketball team had a chance to send the game into overtime or put up a game-winner in the closing seconds on Wednesday night but the Fighting Knights were unable to get off a clean look before the buzzer. Miscues and giveaways plagued the Blue and White in the second half as the home Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish escaped with a 62-60 Sunshine State Conference victory.

    The Sunshine State Conference’s top defense unit was too stout for the Lynn University men’s basketball team on Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Knights dropped a 70-56 decision at the hands of Eckerd College. The Tritons led wire-to-wire while the Blue and White struggled to convert from the field.

    Winter Park, Fla. – The Lynn University men’s basketball team was caught in a back-and-forth, grind-it-out type basketball game on the road versus Rollins Wednesday night, but fell short on a last second shot attempt in a 73-71 setback despite a season-high 27-point scoring output from Terrell Rogers. The Fighting Knights had the ball, down two, but lost the game on a missed shot attempt at the end of regulation.

    The Lynn University men’s basketball team never held the lead for the entire 40 minutes of regulation on Saturday against the 19th-ranked University of Tampa Spartans and trailed big with under four minutes to play. The Fighting Knights’ shooters caught fire from long range down the stretch, applying a breathtaking 18-2 tear in the final 3:06 of the second half to tie the game before securing a 90-85 win in overtime.

    Senior Marquan Botley locked in when it mattered most on Wednesday night, bringing his team back within one before knocking down the game-winning corner three-pointer with under five seconds to play. The Lynn University men’s basketball team escaped with a thrilling 70-68 second-half-comeback victory over the Saint Leo Lions in Sunshine State Conference action. Botley scored the final five points of the night and finished with a team-high 21.

    Undefeated and ninth-ranked Drury University was hot coming into the finale of the Lynn University Boca Raton Holiday Classic on Saturday night, winning its first nine contests of the season and putting up nearly 85 points per game. The Fighting Knights’ men’s basketball squad didn’t back down however, securing a resilient 57-56 victory over the visiting Panthers. Lynn has now won four straight games and picked up its first victory over a top-10 team in over six years.

    The Lynn University men’s basketball team knocked down 13 three-pointers on Tuesday night, one shy of the school record, in an 81-65 nonconference triumph over Miles College. Kevin O’Brien led the way with a career-high 22 points behind a 6-of-12 effort from beyond the arc and rounded out a double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds.

The triumph marks the first Sunshine State Conference win of the young season for the Fighting Knights.
