  • Lacrosse Ousted in SSC Semifinals
    April 28, 2017
    The road came to end for the 2017 Lynn University lacrosse team on a hot Friday afternoon as the third-seeded Fighting Knights fell into a scoring drought in the second half in a 13-6 setback to second-seeded Florida Tech in the Sunshine State Conference Semifinals. The Blue and White reached the SSC Tournament for the second time in the program’s four-year existence.
  • Brous Named Lacrosse Freshman of the Year, Joins Urso on All-SSC First Team

    Dryden Brous and Mikey Urso of the Lynn University lacrosse team collected All-Sunshine State Conference honors, announced by the conference office on Thursday as voted upon by the league’s coaches. Brous becomes the program’s first-ever individual athlete major award winner with Freshman of the Year plaudits while Brous and Urso earn the second and third selections to the All-SSC First Team in school history.

    ynn University’s athletics department handed out 38 awards to student-athletes and inducted four new Hall of Fame members at the annual Student-Athlete Recognition Awards show on Tuesday night, held at the Wold Performing Arts Center on campus.

  • Heads Up! Lacrosse Lands on SSC Tournament Third Seed

    Following an 0-3 start in conference play, the Lynn University lacrosse team needed a strong finish to the regular season and a little luck on its side to continue on into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. Lynn, Rollins and Florida Southern were all knotted up for the final two postseason spots, resulting in a coin flip tiebreaker on site at the SSC Tennis Championships in Bradenton, Fla. on Sunday. Rollins was eliminated, and Lynn’s head-to-head win over FSC granted the Fighting Knights the third seed.
  • Lacrosse Victorious in Season Finale, Awaits SSC Postseason Fate

    With the rest of the Sunshine State Conference already having played earlier in the day, Lynn University’s lacrosse team knew the circumstances for postseason going into Saturday’s regular-season finale – win then hope for a little luck. The Fighting Knights posted the win, going on the road and defeating Florida Southern, 11-8. Now for the luck. Lynn is in a three-way tie with FSC and Rollins for the final two spots in the SSC Tournament, which will be determined tomorrow by coin flips.

  • Lacrosse Shuts Down Saint Leo on Senior Day

    Tied 8-8 after three periods of play, Lynn University’s lacrosse team took over in the final 15 minutes with a 5-0 scoring run to put away Saint Leo University on Saturday in a pivotal Sunshine State Conference matchup, 13-8. The Fighting Knights hosted Senior Day festivities before the opening faceoff, honoring the 11-man senior class of Johnny Gavin, Thomas Sharp, Angelo Beacon-Paglia, Caleb Cerf, Tully Wise, Rob DeSimone, Chase Ostermann, Shaun McDonald, Brian Kiel, Austin Jerhoff and Jacob Lipani.

  • Lacrosse Suffers Second Overtime Defeat

    Trailing 10-6 with under 10 minutes to play at home on Saturday, the Lynn University lacrosse team utilized a 5-1 tear – including Johnny Gavin’s game-tying strike with 22 seconds left – to close out regulation and force overtime against Rollins College. The Fighting Knights had a late man-up opportunity but were unable to convert before the Tars buried the game winner for a 12-11 Sunshine State Conference victory.
  • No. 13 Spartans Catch Lacrosse without its Shield

    Lynn University’s lacrosse team battled a tough University of Tampa squad in the first half to a manageable 6-5 deficit at the break. A scoring drought from the Fighting Knights in the third quarter however allowed the 13th-ranked Spartans to create separation en route to an 18-7 Sunshine State Conference victory over the Blue and White on a hot Saturday afternoon.
  • One Love: Lacrosse Honors Yards for Yeardley Movement

    For the second year in a row, Lynn University’s lacrosse team hosted one of its home games in honor of the One Love Foundation’s Yards for Yeardley campaign. This past Saturday, the Fighting Knights donned One Love warm up shirts before battling Florida Tech while raising awareness around campus all school year leading up to the game.
  • Lacrosse Falls to Florida Tech in SSC Opener, 11-10

    A natural hat trick from Austin Jerhoff, capped by a goal with one second left in the first half, sent the Lynn University lacrosse team into the locker room with a momentum-garnering 6-5 lead on Saturday evening. The 17th-ranked Fighting Knights held a 10-9 advantage with 10 minutes to go but the visiting Florida Tech Panthers tallied the final two scores of the game to hand the Blue and White a heartbreaking 11-10 defeat in the first Sunshine State Conference game of the season. Lynn held the game in honor of the One Love Foundation’s Yards for Yeardley movement, an initiative spreading awareness on relationship abuse.

    With the announcement of the newest tennis and golf national polls on Wednesday, Lynn University proudly represents six athletic programs in their respective national rankings. The Fighting Knights men’s and women’s tennis and golf, baseball and lacrosse teams all occupy a spot in the top-20 of Division II.

  • Lacrosse Snaps Skid, Fends off Walsh in One-Goal Victory

    Lynn University’s lacrosse team never trailed on Monday, but also never created enough of a cushion to coast comfortably against Walsh University. The 17th-ranked Fighting Knights at least had an answer for every Cavaliers push as the Blue and White ended their northern road trip with a 13-12 nonconference triumph to get back in the win column.
  • No. 16 Lacrosse Mounts Second-Half Comeback, Falls to No. 11 Griffins in Overtime
    March 18, 2017
    Lynn University’s 16th-ranked lacrosse team showcased tremendous fight and perseverance on Saturday, falling behind 10-3 in the first half before embarking on a gritty second-half comeback to send the game into overtime. The 11th-ranked Seton Hill University Griffins put away the decider in the extra period however, handing the Fighting Knights a heartbreaking 13-12 defeat. Nick Howard led the way offensively with a hat trick, including the game-tying goal with 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
  • No. 12 Lacrosse Outmatched by No. 2 Saints

    In a battle of nationally-ranked squads on Saturday, a 6-0 run in the second quarter and second-chance opportunities throughout the game helped the second-ranked Limestone College Saints post a 13-4 nonconference victory over Lynn University’s 12th-ranked lacrosse team. Austin Jerhoff scored all four of the Fighting Knights’ goals while the Blue and White controlled the fight at the X.
  • Early Deficit Leads to First Lacrosse Defeat

    An early 5-0 deficit plus a season-high in turnovers proved detrimental for the 12th-ranked Lynn University lacrosse team on Tuesday afternoon as the Fighting Knights were handed their first loss of the 2017 season, 11-6, at Wingate University. Lynn started to make a push late in the fourth quarter but strong goalkeeping from the home squad prevented the Blue and White comeback.

    Two Lynn University student-athletes were named Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Jean-Baptiste Mateo was tabbed the Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week with Travis Quillin of the Blue and White lacrosse squad honored as the Specialist of the Week.
  • No. 12 Lacrosse Grinds out 12-8 Road Clash; Jerhoff Breaks Scoring Record

    Lynn University’s 12th-ranked lacrosse team utilized a 6-0 scoring advantage in the third quarter to break away from Young Harris College on Saturday in a chippy, neutral site battle that saw 20 combined penalties. Following a 4-3 halftime tally, the Fighting Knights’ offense found its rhythm in the second half for a 12-8 decision. Redshirt-junior Austin Jerhoff tallied the 70th goal of his Lynn career, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer.
  • Lacrosse Moves up in Rankings; Prepares for Road Trip

    Lynn University’s lacrosse team didn’t even see the field this past week but made a move in the USILA/Nike Division II Coaches Poll. The Fighting Knights come in at No. 12 in the second release of the 2017 poll, marking the highest the program has ever been ranked.

    Following a 2-0 start to the 2017 campaign and the program’s first-ever win over a Top-10 opponent this past weekend, the Lynn University lacrosse team came in at No. 15 in the first regular-season installment of the USILA/Nike Division II Coaches Poll.
  • Lynn Dominates SSC Player of the Week Awards

    Lynn University athletics had an incredible showing out of the league office on Monday afternoon, securing eight Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week accolades. Marquan Botley and Vieux Kande swept the men’s basketball awards, Donovan Armas brought home baseball’s Pitcher of the Week honor while softball’s Karolina Flores was named the Player of the Week. Dryden Brous and Shaun McDonald secured two of the three men’s lacrosse awards with Stefanie Stemmer and Jean-Baptiste Mateo clinching a Fighting Knights’ sweep in the tennis category.
  • Lacrosse Tames No. 8 Panthers in Program’s First Top-10 Victory

    A year ago saw Lynn University’s lacrosse team post a plethora of program firsts, including its first win over a nationally-ranked opponent. The Fighting Knights took it up a notch on Saturday, garnering the school’s first-ever victory over a Top-10 opponent with an exciting 9-7 triumph over No. 8 Adelphi University. Tied 7-7 early in the fourth quarter, Stephen Polsinelli and Nick Howard sealed the deal with back-to-back strikes with the Blue and White defense fending off the comeback down the stretch.
  • Lacrosse Shatters Program Records in 2017 Season Opener

    Lynn University’s lacrosse team needed little time to find its offensive groove in 2017 as the Fighting Knights kicked off the new campaign with a 22-2 rout over Lees-McRae on Saturday. The Blue and White fired off a scoring barrage in the opening minutes, finding the back of the net 14 times in the first quarter. Redshirt-junior Austin Jerhoff led the charge while breaking records along the way with two goals and seven assists as the team also secured multiple new program records.

  • Lacrosse Announces Third Installment of Summer Camps

    Back by popular demand, the Lynn University Fighting Knights lacrosse program along with its head coach, Brian Kingsbury, will be hosting its third annual session of summer camps. The Overnight camp will take place from June 11-15 with the Day and Half-Day camps on the following week, June 19-22. The Overnight and Day camp are for boys entering 5th-10th grade while the Half-Day camp option is open to boys and girls entering 2nd-5th grade at the beginner level (sticks provided.)
  • #LynnLax One Love Foundation Escalation Workshops

    In conjunction with the Lynn University Title IX office, the Fighting Knights lacrosse team conducted Escalation Workshops this fall for Lynn's student-athletes. The Escalation Workshop focuses on materials from the One Love Foundation to train students on resources, triggers, and signs of sexual misconduct by providing them the skills to be better leaders on their team and help put an end to dating misconduct.
