Softball Season Comes to an End

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – Lynn University's softball team's season came to an end on Saturday following a doubleheader loss to Nova Southeastern.  The Fighting Knights dropped game one 3-1 before closing out the year with a 2-1 loss.

  • Game 1
    • Karolina Flores was 2-for-4 at the plate while Mackenzie Wyatt drove in the only run with a bases loaded walk.
    • Katelyn Key (4-5) pitched well in her final start of her career, allowing three runs on five hits with one strikeout in the complete game.
    • Lynn out hit Nova Southeastern 7-5.
  • Game 2
    • Flores once again logged a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3.
    • Seniors Leanne Wright and Sara Vazquez each recorded hits in their final games as members of the Blue & White.  Vazquez also stole a base.
    • Kayla Sheffield (8-5) earned the start in the circle, going the distance with two runs on five hits.


  • Sara Vazquez swiped her 32nd career stolen base, moving her into sole possession of second place all-time at Lynn.
  • Flores earned her 18th & 19th multi-hit games of the season.
  • Lynn's 26 victories are the most under head coach Amy Bellisari and most since 2004 (35-19-1).
  • The Fighting Knights also posted a .500 record in SSC play (12-12), giving the team the most league victories since 2003 and the fourth season of a .500 record or better in conference play in program history.
