BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University men’s soccer player Anthony Desperito has been honored as a CoSIDA/Capital One First Team Academic All-District selection as announced on Thursday.  Desperito is now eligible for Academic All-America recognition.

The graduate student out of Bayport, N.Y., Desperito has tallied one goal and a team-best four assists for six points in his final year.  The athletic forward began his career with the Fighting Knights in 2009 but sat out two seasons to become a student-assistant coach for the women’s soccer program, which he helped lead to the NCAA Tournament in 2010.  He returned in 2012 and was a key component in the Blue & White’s national title run, earning NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player honors.

Desperito graduated with a degree in sports management and is currently completing his masters in criminal justice.

Lynn is 8-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the Sunshine State Conference and closes out the regular season on Saturday, November 1, when it hosts Florida Tech at 3:30 p.m.  Fans can watch the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com and receive in-game updates by following @LUKnights on Twitter, Instagram and Vine.
