Halder Named SSC Player of the Week
Winter Park, Fla. – Lynn University men’s soccer player Julian Halder has been honored as the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week presented by VALIC. Halder netted three goals and added an assist in two Fighting Knights victories.
A Bregenz, Austria, native Halder opened the season with the game-winning assist in a 1-0 overtime win at Lees-McRae. The graduate forward then tallied the first hat trick of his career in a 5-1 road victory over King College. His hat trick was the first by a Lynn player since October 14, 2010. With three goals, Halder has already surpassed his total from the 2011 season.
Lynn returns to the pitch on Friday-Saturday, September 7-8, when it hosts the Wyndham Boca Raton Soccer Classic. The Fighting Knights kick-off against Ave Maria on Friday then play Anderson on Saturday. Both games are slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. Fans can listen to the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com.
