Pensacola, Fla. – Even while participating in the 2011 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship, Lynn University was able to get away from the game and take time to volunteer in the community.  Select members of the Fighting Knights men’s soccer team volunteered at the MANNA Food Pantry as part of the NCAA’s commitment to community service.

The Blue & White had the opportunity to spend time at the Manna Food Pantry in Pensacola where they assisted in the delivery of food to families in need.  Joining LU were student-athletes from Fort Lewis, Grand Valley State and Saint Rose.

MANNA is a private, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to alleviating hunger in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. MANNA is nonsectarian, community-focused, volunteer-supported and committed to the philosophy - "waste not, want not."

Established in 1982 as the community's response to a comprehensive needs assessment conducted by the Northwest Florida Paralegal Association, MANNA was designated to be the primary agency within the community to receive and store non-perishable food donated from the community and to redistribute the food to those from the community who have a legitimate, verifiable need.
