Melbourne, Fla. - Lynn University’s women’s swimming team may have fell to Saint Leo and Florida Tech but several individuals came out on top in the Saturday afternoon tri-match.  Thalie Carmigniani took first place in the 1000-yard free style, 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard backstroke while Tyne Potgeiter claimed top honors in the 200-yard breast stroke.

The day started off well for LU as Carmigniani blew away the competition in the 1000 free, posting a time of 10:41.81, 15 seconds better than the next swimmer.  Also competing was Morgan Glazer, who clocked in at 12:34.75.

Julia Pedersen took to the pool in the 200 free and just missed out on a first place finish, trailing Chantal Bouthillier (2:02.00) by just over two and a half seconds (2:04.48).  Clairissa Myatt chimed in at 2:26.29.

Potgieter and Darian Weppner placed fifth and eighth in the sprinters 50 free before Carmigniani won the 400 IM with a time of 4:37.55, six seconds ahead of Shelby Pearce from Florida Tech.

Weppner and Myatt both competed in the 100 free, securing times of 1:06.06 and 1:07.64 while Glazer was timed at 6:13.18 in the 500 free.
