Boca Raton, Fla.- Lynn University and men's tennis coach Michael Perez are enthusiastic to announce the signing of Yifan Dang for the 2014 tennis season. Dang, a 5’10’’ freshman, joins the Fighting Knights after a successful career at Edison Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

"Yifan is a dynamic player with the skills that we are looking for," says Coach Perez. "He is willing to grind out and put balls in play while having the ability to step in and close out the point."

A native of HaiYan Li, China, Dang looks to continue his career at Lynn. He has been ranked as high as 325 by the International Tennis Federation including numerous wins during his junior career against Top-100 ITF players.

"With numerous wins over top ranked ITF players, it shows Yifan's penchant to play big at the right time," Coach Perez added. "We look forward to Yifan joining our program and providing the right mix of personality and joy for playing tennis."

The men’s tennis program finished the season ranked fourth nationally with an 18-7 overall record. A 5-1 in the Sunshine State Conference slate paved the way for Coach Perez to earn his 900th career win at the helm of both the men’s and women’s programs during the programs 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Blue and White return six members from this season’s squad while graduating three top-50 players; Willi Wolfer, Vlad Cirla and Max Kouyate.
