Ivan and Krause Earn All-America Status
Skillman, N.J.—Bring the program’s total All-America selection to 94, Ioana Ivan and Sabine Krause from Lynn’s women’s tennis team earned both singles and doubles All-America honors as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Thursday.
Ivan finished the season with a 22-2 singles record and a 22-4 doubles mark partnering with Krause in every match. The Romania native was a unanimous Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year with both first team singles and doubles SSC honors.
Ivan tallied a No. 3 national singles and doubles ranking according to the 2011-12 Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings final release. Ivan posted doubles All-America honors last season in her freshman campaign with partner Eleonora Iannozzi.
Krause amassed a 16-5 singles mark for the year and SSC Freshman of the Year honors. The German native pulled a No. 16 final ITA ranking. Krause becomes the 31st player in Lynn history to earn All-America honors.
Lynn finished the season with a loss to No. 4 Abilene Christian in the NCAA Quarterfinals and a No. 5 national ranking with a 21-5 overall record.
