Women’s Tennis Claims ITA Team and Individual Awards

STILLMAN, N.J.—Lynn University’s women’s tennis team and four student-athletes received Intercollegiate Tennis Association academic honors as announced on Wednesday.
The Fighting Knights women’s tennis team posted an impressive team GPA of 3.61.
Ioana Ivan led Lynn on the court and captained the team. After her All-America honors in both singles and doubles and being named the unanimous Sunshine State Player of the Year, the sophomore amassed a 3.93 GPA in sports management.
Freshman Ana Kriz, sophomore Andrea Berkova and senior Roxana Alexandru joined Ivan as ITA Scholar-Athletes. Kriz tallied a 3.68 GPA in multimedia journalism as Berkova posted a 3.66 GPA in business administration and Alexandru graduated with a business degree and finished out her senior year with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is given to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. ITA Scholar-Athletes awards are given to collegiate tennis players who achieve a grade point average above 3.5 and have been enrolled in the school for at least two semesters.
