BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s fourth-ranked women’s tennis team had little trouble dispatching No. 17 Florida Southern 8-1 on Sunday afternoon. The top tandem of Valentine Confalonieri and Ioana Ivan continued their dominance by remaining undefeated in both singles and doubles play. Lynn improves to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.
The third-ranked doubles combination of Confalonierei and Ivan turned away Florida Southern’s 12th-ranked Magda Riutort and Sabine Goge 8-3 while No. 7 Kim Przeszlowski and Andrea Berkova led off the morning with an 8-2 victory in the second position. The Moc’s lone point came at the third spot, an 8-1 victory for Olivia Spagnuolo and Joalis Dominquez..
Several singles matches turned out to be closer than anticipated as Ivan needed a tie-breaker in the first set before claiming a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 victory over Goge. Przeszlowski quickly won 6-2 in her opening set against Victoria Spagnuolo before falling behind 5-0 in set two. The sophomore from Boca Raton, won the next seven games to claim a 6-2, 7-5 win.

Ana Kriz was able to drop Pamela Paradis 6-3, 6-4. With the match already in LU’s favor, Alina Jane took her third set tiebreaker 10-2 to win her match against Domiquez 6-3, 6-7, 10-2.
