Junior (2017-18): One of two Bulls to compete in all 32 rounds of the season... Tied for the team lead with two top-10 finishes on the season... led the team with six top-25 finishes, including four in the spring...finished second on the team with a 76.2 season scoring average... shot a career-best round of 69 at the Briar’s Creek Invitational en route to tying for seventh individually…member of the USF Athletics Honor Roll for the semester.
Sophomore (2016-17): Played in six events of the spring before missing the rest of the season with an injury... shot a season-best round of 71 at the UCF Challenge…forced to withdraw with an injury at the Web.com Intercollegiate after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round... finished fourth on the team with a 76.3 scoring average in 15 rounds... tied for 27th place at the Gator Invitational (3/12).
Freshman (2015-16): Helped the Bulls place third at the American Athletic Conference Championship, the program's best conference finish since 2011-12... ranked fourth on the team with a 76.2 scoring average in 30 rounds... posted a career-best finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational by tying for 10th place...played in all three of the Bulls' fall tournaments and led the team with a 74.7 scoring average... carded a 4-under 68 in her first collegiate round and tied for 12th at the Johnie Imes Invitational with a score of 68-76-71--215 (-1)... posted consecutive 71's to move up to a tie for 23rd place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate.
High School: Earned four varsity letters for American Heritage in Plantation, Fla., under head coach Linda Sibio ... Named the Miami Herald's Player of the Year as a junior and a senior ... Named the Sun Sentinel's Player of the Year as a junior and a senior ... Captained American Heritage's team in 2014-15…member of the 2014 Junior Olympics, representing Venezuela…participated in three amateur World Cups.
Personal: Born July 19, 1996…daughter of Lupe and Angel Merchan…has one sibling; Maria Alejandra, who also played golf at USF…studying for her master’s in business administration…enjoys singing and playing sports in her free time.
