    Lynn University's second-ranked women's tennis team drew the second seed in the South Region on Tuesday evening and will serve as the host site for the South Regional #2 bracket this upcoming Monday and Tuesday at the Perper Tennis Complex. The Blue & White return to the NCAA Tournament for the 21st consecutive season.

    In what appeared to be a slight sense of déjà vu, Lynn University’s second-ranked and second-seeded women’s tennis team went match-for-match with the third-ranked and top-seeded Barry University Buccaneers in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament title match for the second year in a row. Following an intense 4-4 tie, the championship came down to the final singles match on Sunday, but unlike last year, the Bucs came away with the 5-4 victory.

    Lynn University’s women’s tennis team was off to a good start Saturday afternoon in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship match, building a 2-1 lead through doubles play before the rain started. After a short delay, singles competition has been postponed until tomorrow morning, Sunday, April 23 at 10 a.m.

    Lynn University athletics had an incredible showing out of the league office on Monday afternoon, securing eight Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week accolades. Marquan Botley and Vieux Kande swept the men’s basketball awards, Donovan Armas brought home baseball’s Pitcher of the Week honor while softball’s Karolina Flores was named the Player of the Week. Dryden Brous and Shaun McDonald secured two of the three men’s lacrosse awards with Stefanie Stemmer and Jean-Baptiste Mateo clinching a Fighting Knights’ sweep in the tennis category.

    Powerhouse Armstrong State University has been Lynn University's postseason adversary in the women's tennis world for the past few years but the Fighting Knights earned a big victory over the Pirates on Saturday. Third-ranked Lynn took down the two-time defending national champions and No. 1 ranked team in Division II by a final of 5-1. Lynn handed ASU its first loss at home since 2003, halting the longest current consecutive home match winning streak in collegiate tennis.
