Boczova, Petrackova Earn ITA All-America Accolades

Tempe, Ariz. – Lynn University women's tennis players Klaudia Boczova and Eliska Petrackova each picked up Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-America honors with the announcement of the final national rankings released this week. Boczova is named a singles All-American while joining Petrackova with doubles All-America plaudits.

ITA All-Americans are determined by the final Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis National Rankings. For singles, the student-athlete must finish in the top 20 while doubles pairs must have a top-10 rank at the completion of the season.

Boczova had a dominant spring campaign in solo play, concluding the season as the No. 7 ranked singles player in Division II. She debuted in the national rankings at No. 17 on March 21 and ranked inside the top-11 for the final seven polls, but could never break into the top-five of the computerized rankings after not competing in fall events.

Boczova and Petrackova finish as the No. 5 ranked doubles squad in the country. They first debuted in the rankings on March 21 at No. 28 and spent two weeks as the top-ranked tandem in the nation.

Since Lynn joined the NCAA in 1997, the Lynn women's tennis program has produced at least one singles All-American every season, while the Fighting Knights have also had at least one doubles squad with All-America honors every year since 2008. Boczova's double-honor this season marks the eighth consecutive year with a Fighting Knight claiming the status in both singles and doubles.

This is the first career All-America plaudit for Petrackova, a sophomore transfer who played one spring season at Old Dominion before coming to Lynn this spring. Boczova was also a Division II double All-American in 2016 when she played for Nova Southeastern.

Boczova produced a near-flawless singles season in 2018, finishing the year with a perfect 24-0 record in solo play at the No. 1 position without dropping a set the entire season. She won all 10 of her Sunshine State Conference decisions and went 11-0 against nationally-ranked competition.

In doubles, Boczova and Petrackova logged a 13-2 record as a pair, all while playing at the top position. They went 5-2 against nationally-ranked foes while going 9-0 in league competition.

Boczova has been racking up awards all year, being named the ITA South Region Senior Player of the Year as well as the SSC Player of the Year. She was an All-SSC First Team pick in singles while her and Petrackova earned first-team honors in doubles from the conference. Additionally, Boczova was named the SSC Player of the Week five times, marking just the third-ever Fighting Knight to win an SSC weekly award five times in an academic year.

As a team, the Fighting Knights conclude the 2018 season as the No. 5 ranked school in Division II. Lynn started off the year at the top, ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll. The Blue and White spent one week at No. 7 but were within the top five in the remaining nine polls. National champions Barry claim the top spot with national championship runners-up West Florida coming in at No. 2. National tournament semifinalists Columbus State and Hawaii Pacific occupy the two spots in front of Lynn, respectively.

Natalie Kallmunzerova joins Boczova in the final singles national rankings at No. 49. Lynn finished with two other ranked doubles squads as Diana Bogolii and Jan Abaza claimed the No. 13 spot with Bogolli and Boczova ranking 44th.

The Fighting Knights tallied a 20-5 overall record in 2018, marking the 23rd 20+ win season in program history and fifth straight. Lynn qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd consecutive year, but did not advance to nationals for just the third time in program history.
