The women’s tennis NCAA Division II National Championship bracket has been set, with Lynn University's top-ranked Fighting Knights selected as the No. 3 seed. Lynn heads to Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. on Monday, with tennis action set to commence on Wednesday, May 22.
Lynn University’s top-ranked women’s tennis team is heading back to the NCAA National Championships as the squad took down No. 3 Nova Southeastern on Tuesday, 4-0, to win the NCAA South Region II Championship. The Fighting Knights have now collected three titles so far this season, with the ultimate prize just four wins away.
After multiple rain delays and schedule adjustments, Lynn University’s top-ranked women’s tennis team finally took to the courts Monday evening, blanking No. 13 West Florida in the opening round of the NCAA South Regional, 4-0. The bottom half of the singles lineup carried the weight, clinching the match for the Fighting Knights.
Lynn University's top-ranked women's tennis team was selected as the third seed in the South Region on Tuesday evening and will head to Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Division II Championship at the beginning of next week. Leolia Jeanjean of the Lynn University women’s tennis team was announced as the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year on Wednesday, as voted on by the league’s women’s tennis coaches. In singles, Jeanjean and Ulyana Grib were each named All-SSC First Team, Federica Mordegan was tabbed All-SSC Second Team and Eleonora Liga picked up Honorable Mention plaudits. Jeanjean and Grib were also selected to the All-SSC First Team Doubles.
