BOCA RATON, Fla. – After inking one athlete during the fall signing period, Lynn University's head cross country and track coach Chris Wood announced the addition of five student-athletes to the program for the 2018-19 season.
"We are very excited for this class and to continue the growth of the team and roster," said Wood. "It is not every year that you can double your program size, and the added depth of Taryn Super and Emmanuelle LaTertre will help us to continue our journey up the conference rankings."
LeTertre comes to the States from France, where she posted personal best times of 22:03.00 in the 6K, 10:30.78 in the 3000, 4:51.41 in the 1500 and 2:22.71 in the 800.
From the Coaches: "Emmanuelle will bring a fun and energetic personality to the team and make an immediate impact on the regional level for both track and cross country this coming season."
Boca Raton, Florida / Boca Raton Community HS
Wells returns to South Florida to run at the collegiate level following a hiatus from the sport in her freshman year at the University of Alabama. Wells is on record as having top-three times at Boca Raton Community High School in the 100, 200 and 400, setting personal records of 12.59, 26.01 and 59.69 in the events, respectively.
From the Coaches: "As a transfer student, Maddie will bring a maturity level to the program that we are looking for. The team is still very young, so it will be great to have another non-freshman on the roster. Maddie also has a ton of range, as she's been successful from the 100m up to the 400m and that will help as she transitions more to the 800m discipline."
Apopka, Florida / Lake Brantley HS
Ramirez joins the program as a middle-distance standout, posting personal-best times of 28.58 in the 200, 1:05.37 in the 400 and 2:27.54 in the 800. The Apopka native has the fourth-fastest 600-meter time on record for Lake Brantley, clocking in at 1:45.59.
From the Coaches: "Rachel is a very hard worker; she's had some great success in the 800m, especially on relays. She has a ton of range and we're looking forward to developing that in her time at Lynn."
Niceville, Florida / Niceville HS
Reece arrives at Lynn with a top time of 2:42.60 in the 800 and a 5K personal record of 22:11.00 from a high school program with a strong running pedigree.
From the Coaches: "Jayden is coming to Lynn University as a member of a state championship cross country program. She's a winner and has a very low training age on the track. We're excited for her as she is far from her ceiling."
Dubai, UAE / IMG Academy
Kashkimbayeva comes to Lynn from IMG Academy, where she competed for the track and field team this season. She looks to transition from throwing events to long-distance running, adding depth to the Fighting Knights' squad.
From the Coaches: Angela comes from another well ran program. IMG Academy does a great job and we're looking forward to her getting here and working on building up our distance program.
