New Orleans, La. – Kate Fisher capped her stellar freshman campaign with All-South Region honors on Monday afternoon, as announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Plymouth, Massachusetts, native earned the honor in the 1500-meter run after posting a personal-record time of 4:37.93 at the North Florida Invitational in April. She becomes Lynn's first All-Region selection as the program completes its first season as an NCAA sport.
Fisher showed steady improvement throughout her rookie campaign, posting times of 4:48.81 and 4:52.99 in early-season races. She improved her personal record to 4:41.88 at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic, before topping it once more in the final race of the season in Jacksonville against the area's top competition.
