Softball team seeks 20 for $20

The women’s softball team helps raise funds for softball scholarships, equipment purchases, facility improvements and other immediate needs.

This year, the team hosts “Softball 20 for $20,” where each team member gathers 20 or more supporters who donate $20 or more.

Annual baseball tradition continues

The “100 Inning Marathon Baseball Game,” scheduled for 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, is an annual tradition for the Lynn baseball student-athletes. The current team hosts a game that lasts 100 innings in an effort to raise funds for the squad. The proceeds from this fundraiser support equipment purchases, provide scholarships and make improvements to the playing field. 

Please help us by making a cash gift of a personally appropriate amount or make a pledge per inning. Your pledge per inning is multiplied by 100 to determine your total contribution. (For example, if you pledge .35 per inning, your total donation to our baseball team would be $35.)

Women’s basketball hosts Free-Throw-a-Thon

The women’s basketball team hosts its fifth annual Free-Throw-a-Thon fundraiser with each team member taking 100 free-throws. The event is set for Friday, Dec. 17, in the Count and Countess de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center. 

You may base your gift on each free-throw or simply make a straight donation. Both are greatly appreciated and directly benefit Lynn women’s basketball team by providing academic course fees, books and team apparel.

Take the Tennis Collegiate/AM challenge

The Lynn University Collegiate/AM Tennis Tournament pairs our Fighting Knights tennis teams with amateurs in this annual favorite. The tournament takes place 8 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at the new Perper Tennis Complex on campus. Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward student-athlete scholarships, books and equipment needs. All players receive a gift bag, dinner and raffle tickets.
